Tonight I have a couple of last minute Valentine cards. It seems like I started Valentine cards early enough but I must not have because I am finishing some up at the last minute. Tonight I made a few quick tags with chocolate embellishments for some teachers who have been very thoughtful and helpful at school. These past two weeks have been busy, busy and I am very glad to have time off. Winter break is one of my favorite times in the school year. You don’t have the stress of Christmas or Thanksgiving, it is just good old time off!
Anyway…. Here are my cards for tonight.Â
 Â
 Â
Last but not least….. we are off to Brussels, Paris and London tomorrow so I made this card in honor of our vacation. I can’t wait!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today. I will be back in a week or so……
Â
It really has some stamping…..not much though. Just one little, bitty word. I made this in a jiffy for Sharon’s Stamp Simply Challenge. “This week’s challenge is to create a card with A MODERN EDGE to it - whatever YOU think is modern in the card making world today!!!” This is what I came up with – Hot pink, black, white, some minimal stamping and fuzzy ribbon.
Not much news tonight as it has been a whirlwind day and now I want to veg out and watch The Last Templar. I hope I can stay awake.
Thanks for stopping by today.

More cards for those you love. I thought these images from Gina K. were just like the Valentines that kids like to send. I hope some adults I know will enjoy sending and receiving them! I used some non-traditional colors for these cards to spice things up.

On another note – I have been cleaning and tossing. It seems like we get more and more mail and it just piles up around the house. I have been paying bills on-line and get several bills electronically but that isn’t helping. It just keeps coming back. I filled up an entire trash bag this morning with old mail and stuff from the “junk” drawer. The sad thing is that it will all be back in a few days! At least my junk drawer isn’t so junky right now.
Last night at the Tavern was a lot of fun. It was good to see everyone away from school and meet spouses and significant others. After the gathering we stopped by Trader Joe’s. Â …..always such a treat to see what’s new in the store.
Thanks for stopping by today.
I signed up for Lisa Pace’s Cupid’s Workshop.
She has some fun ideas and so far I have made cards and started a bird project. I hope to have the bird finished by tomorrow so I can post it.
I have been busy making Valentine cards but just can’t seem to get around to taking pictures and posting them. The sun was shining so bright when I took these that there are some bad shadows…. but you get the idea anyway.
My school is having a party tonight at a local tavern, so I am off to get ready. It should be fun, but interesting. I am one of the few English speaking faculty members at my school so we will see how it goes with everyone else speaking Spanish. I am used to it and can understand some of what they are saying but it will be different for DH. After a few beers he probably won’t care :)

What a day…I had to return to work today after having been off for three weeks. I am really, really tired. I have a feeling this will be a long week. I am anxious to get started on some Valentine cards but it is going to be Thursday before I can get into my stamping room.
It seems like I am always in need of sympathy cards. I know my friends really appreciate a handmade card and they always comment on how much it means to them to get one. I know a card cannot make things better but maybe it will help ease the pain a little. I sat down this past weekend and made several sympathy cards to replenish my card box and thought I would share them here.
 Thanks for stopping by today.

Boy it is great to be back home, but I have not been able to get back in the groove. I guess I am still on vacation. It will be pretty rough when I have to go back to work on January 12th. I sure hope I can get up in time. We have really enjoyed sleeping late.
Our trip to Denver was super. The boys were excited about their new Wii games but we still managed to get out and do some fun things. We spent part of a day in Estes Park. We even ate at The Stanley. This is where they filmed The Shining! It was a beautiful hotel and I am sure we could not afford to stay there and we might not want to either. Â
While DIL had a photo shoot we went to the Estes Park Museum. It is a local museum and sort of small but the Sixties Exhibit kept everyone happy. Who knew a few wigs, ties, hats and love beads would be such a hit.

When we returned home we turned right around and went to visit friends for a New Year celebration. One of my gifts this year  to a dear friend was some Happy New Year cards. So here are shots some of them. I delivered some of the cards before I took pictures… I just forgot to take a picture. Like I said, it has been hard to get back in the swing of things.  The clock card is part of my resolution to use what I have. Those clocks have been in my stash for at least 4 years! I really like the way the card turned out and I had enough to make 3 cards and still have a few clocks left over for something else.Â

Thanks for stopping by today. I will try and do better about posting.
On this one. I loved Sharon Johnson’s accordion tag when I saw it. It just took me awhile to get it made. Then I was in a hurry to get it packaged to give as a gift so the pictures I took are awful. I am ashamed to post such awful pitures! In real life it is a prettier red, green and teal. Oh well, I liked it and so did my friend.

Today I finished this banner for another friend. I tried to make it shabby chic without going overboard. Some glitter, lace, rhinestones, and ribbon finished it off.Â

Have a good one.
