Taylor’s Challenge #44

Here is my card for Taylor’s cupcake challenge.I don’t have a cupcake but I bet frogs like to eat cupcakes :) It has been a busy day today with several church activities so I am off to bed now. Thanks for stopping by today.

Special Wishes for a Christmas Birthday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was very enjoyable. We went out to eat with my sister and then went on a hike at Arabia Mountain Park. It was more of a stroll than a hike but at least we walked off some of the calories. This starts the season of eating and I am going to have to really watch myself. I love sweets…..who doesn’t? J

Today’s card started out as a sympathy card. I was working on it and my DH came by and said “What a pretty Christmas card.” What???? Can’t he see it is a serious sympathy card? I slept on it a realized he was right, it is a little “over the top” for a sympathy card. It was easy to make a few changes and now it is going to a Christmas Birthday girl. I hope she enjoys it. I have a ton of cards to share as I have been mass producing cards all week. I just can’t seem to get pictures made. Maybe today…… Thanks for stopping by.

Going Green

No – I am not color blind! This is really a purple post.

I have made a commitment to “go green.” Do you have as much stash as I do? I am going to do my best to use as much of my stash as possible. This may mean you will see paper and embellishments that are at least 3-4 years old! I hope I will save some money this way and I know I will have to get creative as I use up my “dated” papers, etc. I had in mind to use this snowflake paper and make a blue Christmas card, but I could not find one piece of blue card stock in the right shade, so I went with purple. I used Amy’s sketch to create this card…..

Here is my purple angel. I sell most of my cards at church and I am sure someone will love her and give her a good home. Thanks for stopping by today.

Your Sleigh Has Arrived

I made this card for Beate’s challenge. It is a Flourishes stamp. I like the fact that you can change the images on the sleigh and it changes the whole look of the sleigh. Of course I had to add glitz to Santa’s Sleigh. I know he likes the Liberace look!

Today was such fun! I went to a stamping friends house and we stamped and talked and snacked all morning. Everyone needs days like this. I will have some more samples to share later. Thanks for stopping by today!

So Thankful

The holidays are always so hard on everyone. I know I expect everything to be picture perfect with all the family together and that never happens. Life gets in the way somehow. But no matter what happens we do end up with happy memories of the time we have spent with our family. What ever you do this holiday season please take time to visit your family and friends. Don’t worry about the picture perfect moment. Buy that pumpkin pie instead of making it from scratch, use paper plates if it will keep you out of the kitchen, take a walk and enjoy the day!

I made this card for a dear friend. She is one of my best card shoppers so I had to make a different card for her. I have loved making Thanksgiving cards this year. I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. But now I am ready to get busy on Christmas. It will be here next week…..!

Shared Birthday and shopping at Goodwill

It has been a busy two weeks. Once we got back from Orlando I had to go back to work. I didn’t get to any crafting at all last week and today was the first day I had time to make any cards. Here is a quick card I made for a friend who needed a “shared” birthday card. He and his 82 year old cousin share a birthday and he wanted something special. I hope he likes it! The butterflies are punched from some pages out of a book I bought at Goodwill. I thought the borders in the fairy tale book were so bright and colorful that I bought the book with the idea of using the pages for cards and embellishments. I bought a couple of other books at Goodwill and I will be sharing more creations soon. Thanks for stopping by today.
